Apologetics for the Masses - Issue #180

Bible Christian Society

General Comments

Hey folks,

I hope you and your loved ones have had a wonderful Christmas season and that the New Year brings many blessings to you and yours.

And I want to thank all of you for your past support for this e-newsletter and for the Bible Christian Society, in general. We could not reach so many people around the world with the truths of the Catholic Faith without your help.

Even though things have been a little slow the last half of 2011 – in regards to the number of newsletters I’ve gotten out and some other things that I’ve been wanting to work on but just never seem to get the time to do so – I’m very excited about 2012.

I’m making it priority #1 to add some new talks to the current list – some mine and some from other folks; some that are updates of current talks and some brand new ones.

Priority #2 is to get the newsletter out on a more regular basis. I’m shooting for 20-25 issues in 2012. I have to be honest and tell you that I’ve been worn out the last few months between my different jobs with the Bible Christian Society, the Office of Evangelization, Queen of Heaven Radio, and EWTN Radio. Trying to balance all of that with my responsibilities to my wife and kids has taken a toll. But, not having done a newsletter for the last few weeks has given me a much-needed respite, and I’m starting to get that “fired-up” feeling again.

So, please keep me in your prayers…my family continually keeps all of you in ours…and let’s see if we can’t do some things together that will result in winning some souls for Christ and His Bride in 2012!

Oh, something else: I listed two priorities above…any ideas for what Priority #3 should be? I would love to hear your feedback. And, please know, I read all the emails, even if I can’t necessarily reply to all of them. So, even if you don’t get a response from me, I’ll have read your email and will be very grateful for any thoughts and ideas.

Finally, I would ask all of you to keep my sister-in-law, Cathy, in your prayers over this first weekend of the new year. She has been involved with drugs for a number of years now and, without going into a lot of detail, she is at the point of having to make what is literally a life and death decision. Please pray that God grant her the grace and the strength to decide to live and to let others help her live. And please keep my wife, Janel, in your prayers as this whole situation has taken quite an emotional toll on her.

In Conclusion

One last thing: I’ll be on Johnette Benkovic’s television program on EWTN for three shows on January 2, 3, and 4. The shows air at 11:00 AM Eastern and re-air at 11:30 PM Eastern on each of those days. The series is entitled “Real Men: Purpose and Mission,” and will continue on January 5 and 6, as well, although I couldn’t be there when they taped those shows because of a scheduling conflict so they had Fr. Silva fill in for me. It was an honor and blessing to work with Johnette – she is a truly filled with a passion for God and a burning desire to bring souls closer to Christ.
